RIP Snowdrop and Cornelia

Snowdrop and Cornelia ( hens) sadly are no more. What i am assuming is a fox has had them, it must have happened in the night , this morning i was forewarned by our neighbour that there were white feathers all over the grass and there was only one chicken left. sniff sniff! I feel quite shocked . Apparently one of the doors was slightly ajar on their house ( this is confusing as i don't usually use that door as it sticks and is difficult to open!) anyway they are GONE , and i'm afraid probably dead too. Sonny isn't actually that upset because his chicken is okay ( fickle !) but i'm sensing Maya and Jamie might be a little bit more bothered when they find out .

We would have had them a year next week . Oh well such is life! Think a trip to the Chook man may be in order, well Cuddly Blue is lonely on her own you know!

  1. What a shame - we started with four hens originally but lost one within a month thanks to our own dog! That was over a year ago and sadly we lost another one of our hens. There are such nice lovely pets. Hope the children will not be sad for long.

  3. Aw, poor chickens, that must have been a horrible shock to find. We're not allowed chickens here (boo hiss), but when we are planning to move I'll be able to have some. I know there are foxes aroudn though as you can smell them, so will have to think of ways to keep them away. I hope you get some replacements soon and that your children aren't too upset by it.

  6. Sorry to hear about your poor chickens going missing :-( I know as a chicken owner that you have to expect these things but it is still sad when it happens as they are such lovely pets.
